Fu Dogs (2023)
"Fu Dogs" draws inspiration from my familiar Brooklyn environment, where brownstone lined streets regale guardian lion statues. Guardian lion dogs are also a common symbol of protectorship in and outside East and South Asian temples, palaces, and homes. Each dog represents the duality of masculinity and feminity, symbolized through the objects of a world and a child in their paws. Displaying these dogs in your home adds a “symbolic” layer of protectorship and prosperity. For optimal fengshui, display the artwork by your home's entryway.
